Microscopes For Sale – Which One Should You Go For?

confused

When you are looking for microscopes for sale it makes a lot of sense if you do a little bit of preparation before you go buying the first one you see that looks pretty.

There is such a huge array out there and it can be both time consuming and daunting when you begin looking for one.

Often after looking you can be left feeling more confused than what you were before you began!

So let me explain a little bit more about the kinds of microscopes that are available to buy.  Hopefully this will give you some insight and take off some of that pressure.

For a start you can get beginners microscopes, or microscopes for children starting from as little as $20 and then you basically increase in price and quality depending on your needs up to $300 and more.

The basic $20 microscope normally achieves around 600 times magnification, more than enough for young enquiring minds!

Then, at the other end of the scale, you can easily end up paying over $5000 for high end professional microscopes, so it makes sense to know what you are looking for beforehand, getting as much information as possible about them.

So as a basic starter I’d recommend you look at Microscopes that are in the price range of up to $100

Within this price range you can get a good few for the money with some great starter features.  Look out for glass optics, monocular head and interchangeable eyepieces.

You can also look out for ones that have adjustable arms that allow you to adjust the unit for comfortable viewing.

An electric illuminator will help out with the control of the amount of light that is used, which helps when studying fine details.

The more advanced microscopes are for professional users who use them day in day out, so they expect a certain level of quality and refinement.  Often these people will know which one to go for or may have an idea of one or two.

Normally a Carl Zeiss lens is the standard, and is expected.  The units need to be stable too, and need to be heavy with most of the weight towards the bottom.

Illuminators,. Eyepieces, dust covers and immersion oil tend to be the main requirements for a professional unit.

Additional add ons can be binocular tubes, various optic systems that allow for precise and fine movement.

So I hope this introductory section has enlightened you a little bit.  Now it makes sense to do a little bit of exploring.

I will outline some of the basic ones below for you to review.  Thanks!
